Happy 2026
Hi JCS families,

Happy New Year to all of you and we hope that everyone is beginning a happy and healthy 2026 with your loved ones!

New Year's Day often encourages us to take some time to reflect and consider the prior year. This past year our school community has worked hard to foster strong partnerships with families to support our students' academic and social learning. Our wonderful teachers, school clinicians (adjustment counselors and psychologist), school nurse, school secretaries, and support staff connected families with a variety of community resources and supports. We're looking forward to a continuation of all of these important efforts as we continue this school year into 2026!

Please Leave Toys, Technology, and “Fad” Items at Home!

We would like to start the new year reminding students and families that toys, technology, and “fad” items (e.g. Labubus, stuffed animals, character cards/figures, etc.) should be left at home and not brought to school. We know that students may have received new items during the holidays and might be excited to show them to their friends at school. However, not only are these items distracting, they can cause issues between students and disrupt the school day. We do not want any student to lose or misplace any item that’s important to them if they choose to bring it to school. As stated in the Elementary School Handbook, “The school is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged devices or personal items.”

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping student personal items at home!

School Communication with Families

As we continue the new year, we want to continue to work hard to communicate with families in a variety of ways. In addition to regular email, phone calls, and meetings, here are all of the other ways available for our school and families to communicate with each other and share important information.

The main phone number of the school is 508-285-0120.

SPO Meeting on Thursday, 1/8

The Solmonese Parent Organization (SPO) is holding a monthly meeting on Thursday, 1/8 at 6PM at J.C. Solmonese School in the 2nd floor Library/Media Center. All parents, guardians, caregivers, teachers, and staff are welcome to attend! Our friends at Champions will be offering childcare for any parents that would like to attend and also need to bring their child.

We encourage parents/guardians to attend SPO meetings in-person, but we also understand that's not an option for everyone. We will also be streaming the meeting live on Google Meet via the link below.
