J. C. Solmonese Elementary School

Learn. Grow. Achieve.

Principal's Welcome

Principal's Welcome

Dear J.C. Solmonese School community,

Paul Barrette, PrincipalWe are all excited for the 2026-27 school year! Teachers, staff, and families all make up our wonderful school community and share the important work that we do together on behalf of JCS students. We’re looking forward to continuing and building upon that work together.

JCS serves students PreK through 3rd grade and we have approximately 550 students. Our teachers and staff care deeply about our students and work hard to create a safe and supportive learning environment. Our English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science programs align closely with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and we also offer rich opportunities for students in Art, Music, Wellness, and Digital Literacy. Our school values are Safety, Respect, Responsibility, Kindness, Teamwork, Honesty, Acceptance, Perseverance, and Fun.

As a school community, we are fortunate to have an engaged Parent Organization (SPO) that partners with teachers and staff to support our students and offer a variety of fun activities and special events. We encourage parents and families to volunteer and share your talents and become involved in our school.

As the principal, my goal is to support the vision of J.C. Solmonese School; in active partnership with families and the community, we will foster personal development, intellectual growth, and prepare each student to contribute and succeed as a productive and responsible global citizen. As both an educator and parent, I understand the importance of clear, consistent, and transparent communication in order to establish trust among all members of a school community and to build a foundation for the success of our students. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, ideas, or suggestions you have. I’m looking forward to a terrific year working with you and your children!

Sincerely,
Paul Barrette, Principal
