Due to the sheer amount of snow on the playground and blacktop, including very high snow banks blocking access to the playground equipment, we will have indoor recess all of this week. We will reassess each week until there is adequate room on the playground and blacktop and safe access to the playground equipment.

JCS is celebrating “Read Across America Week” March 2nd through March 6th. We encourage students to join in the celebration by participating in the activities planned for the week.

We know that the Thursday ice cream service during lunches is popular for many of our students. In partnership with our food service provider, Chartwells, here is the schedule for March:

The Solmonese Parent Organization (SPO) is holding a monthly meeting on Thursday, 3/5 at 6PM at J.C. Solmonese School in the 2nd floor Library/Media Center. All parents, guardians, caregivers, teachers, and staff are welcome to attend! Our friends at Champions will be offering childcare for any parents that would like to attend and also need to bring their child.

We encourage parents/guardians to attend SPO meetings in-person, but we also understand that's not an option for everyone. We will also be streaming the meeting live on Google Meet via the link below.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra is hosting a Sensory-Friendly Concert on Saturday, March 14 at 10:00 AM at Symphony Hall. The BSO cordially invites all JCS students and their families to attend.

Sensory-friendly concerts are designed for people of any age with an autism spectrum disorder or

sensory sensitivity and their families.

Modifications for these concerts include relaxed house rules, reduced volume and lighting levels, extra space for movement, available noise-reduction headphones, designated quiet room and support spaces, and credentialed autism therapist volunteers on site.
