It's Teacher Appreciation Week and we're excited to let all of the JCS teachers AND staff know how important they are to our students! Thank you to our wonderful JCS SPO for planning specific treats for the teachers and staff throughout this week. We are truly grateful for your thoughtfulness.

Classroom teachers tend to hear the most expressions of appreciation (and those are well deserved), but we also want to make sure that other JCS teachers and staff members are recognized for their important work and what they do to support our students.

Here are the 90s themed events and treats planned for all JCS teachers and staff this week:

Tuesday, May 5th: Rollin’ With My Homies 

Enjoy a 90s snack from a rolling cart travelling around the school!

Wednesday, May 6th: When I Dip, You Dip, We Dip 

Let’s restock our teachers’ supply closets or bookshelves with what they need!

Thursday, May 7th: You’re All That in a Bag of Chips

Teachers and staff pick out their favorite bag of chips!

Friday, May 8th: TGIF!

Teachers and staff enjoy a special lunch provided by the SPO!

Both JCS and LGN are hosting an Open House for families of incoming 26-27 Kindergarten students on Monday, May 4th at 6:30pm at each individual school. We invite all parents/guardians ​of incoming JCS Kindergarten students to join us Monday night May 4th at 6:30pm at JCS ​for the Open House and to meet our Kindergarten Team! The event is meant just for the parents and guardians.

Registration for Kindergarten for the 26-27 school year is open. See the flyer below and go to https://www.norton.k12.ma.us/13114_2 to register your child. Even students that are currently enrolled in the Little Lancers program that will be in Kindergarten next year need to be registered using this online form. There isn’t any “automatic rollover” registration from Little Lancers to Kindergarten.

Spring Picture Day is coming up on Friday, May 8th! Order online at https://inter-state.com/FlyerEntry/0455SNF.

Unlike Fall Pictures, ONLY students whose families preorder pictures will be individually photographed on May 8th. If families prefer that their child not be individually photographed, simply do not pre-order pictures online. However, each class WILL be having a class picture taken together as a group, so all families may want to take this into consideration when helping your child select clothes to wear to school on May 8th.

We have a lot of vehicles that come in and out of the JCS campus each day for both PreK and K-3 drop-off and pick-up. For everyone’s safety and to help everything go smoothly, please follow the procedures listed on the JCS website at https://jcs.norton.k12.ma.us/dropoffpickup

The Solmonese Parent Organization (SPO) is holding a monthly meeting on Thursday, 5/7 at 6PM at J.C. Solmonese School in the 2nd floor Library/Media Center. All parents, guardians, caregivers, teachers, and staff are welcome to attend! Our friends at Champions will be offering childcare for any parents that would like to attend and also need to bring their child.

We encourage parents/guardians to attend SPO meetings in-person, but we also understand that's not an option for everyone. We will also be streaming the meeting live on Google Meet via the link below.
