Hi JCS families,

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers (and grandmothers) in the JCS community! I hope that you have a wonderful day surrounded and celebrated by your family and the people you love!

3rd Grade Math MCAS Wednesday, 5/13 and Thursday, 5/14

On Wednesday, 5/13 and Thursday, 5/14, our 3rd graders will be taking the Math MCAS assessment. Over the past few months, the students have been practicing and preparing for this test. They are ready! By working together, we can make your child’s test experience positive and successful. Here are some ways that we can work together to support our 3rd graders and help them be successful:

Make sure your 3rd grader gets enough rest on the nights before the scheduled assessments.
Have your 3rd grader eat a healthy breakfast at home or be to school on time to grab a quick breakfast from the cafeteria.
Make sure your 3rd grader arrives at school on time. The assessment begins promptly at 9:30am to allow students to have enough time and be relaxed while they are taking the assessment.
Encourage your 3rd grader to wear comfortable clothing that won’t distract them.
If you wish, send your 3rd grader to school with some gum or hard candies for testing days (Lollipops, Jolly Ranchers, or Life Savers are excellent suggestions). These items still need to be nut free.
Gently encourage your child to try their best!

Thursday Ice Cream Schedule for May and June

We know that the Thursday ice cream service during lunches is popular for many of our students. In partnership with our food service provider, Chartwells, here is the schedule for May and June:

There WILL be ice cream service Thursday 5/14, 5/21, 5/28, 6/4, and 6/11

There will NOT be ice cream service Thursday 6/18

Summer Enrichment Program 2026

The Norton Public Schools are pleased to offer a variety of opportunities for students entering grades K-12 to take part in this summer. There are four different weeks offered from Monday, July 6th through Thursday, July 30th. Sessions will take place Monday-Thursday, 9am-12pm. Norton Middle School will be the host site of the Summer Enrichment Program.

NHS Spring Concert - May 14th at 6:00 PM

The Norton High School Spring Music Concert is Thursday May 14th at 6:00 PM in the NHS Auditorium. Featuring Concert Band, Select Choir, Rock Band, and Concert Chorus. Free admission and concessions are provided by the Norton Music and Theater Parents.
