"Turtle Talk" Beginning of August Check-in

The Norton Public Schools 2026-27 School Calendar is posted on the district website and the JCS website, https://jcs.norton.k12.ma.us/calendar-26-27. We appreciate families referring to the calendar whenever possible when scheduling appointments to avoid students missing school. As a school, JCS reduced our students' chronic absentee percentage from 10.5% to 8.5% last year and we greatly appreciate families support !

One of the most exciting things for a student is to find out who their new classroom teacher is going to be for the school year! The three Norton elementary schools are planning to send out classroom teacher assignments to families during the week of August 17th.

At the end of last year, teams consisting of the principal, teachers, and support staff work collaboratively to create balanced groups of students, taking into consideration such factors as learning styles, classroom performance, developmental levels, peer relationships, social development, and class size. As listed in the Elementary School Handbook, "requests for a specific teacher will not be accepted".

Our custodians are working hard this summer to get all of our classrooms and entire school clean, shiny, and ready for our students. Thanks Mr. Eric, Mr. Paul, Mr. Mike, and Mr. Jason!
