Traffic accident that took place outside of the school campus that did not involve JCS students

Hi JCS families,

This message is to make you aware of a traffic accident that occurred at the end of dismissal outside of the school campus on West Main Street (Route 123). No JCS students or staff were injured during the accident. While the accident did not involve any JCS students or buses, the accident did cause a substantial traffic disruption in the area outside of the school campus which impacted buses. A ParentSquare message and text alert was sent out to notify families as soon as we could.

Because the accident (fortunately) did not involve any JCS students, staff, or buses, we do not have any details about who was involved in the crash. We do hope that everyone involved is OK and a number of JCS staff responded to assist with the accident in partnership with the Norton Police Department and Fire Department. We greatly appreciate the efforts of all JCS staff that volunteered their time to help out, as well as the members of the police and fire departments.

Because there were a number of police and fire vehicles that responded to the scene of the accident right at the end of dismissal, it is possible that some students may have been upset by the sight of the emergency vehicles or the fact that their school bus needed to change it's normal route. If your child is worried, please let them know that all JCS students and staff are OK and the police and fire departments did a terrific job helping the people involved in accident.
