Welcome to the Transportation Page for Norton Public Schools

Registration is for the next 2023-2024 school year.

**ALL STUDENTS, NO MATTER THE GRADE OR DISTANCE OR IF QUALIFY FOR A WAVIER, WHO INTEND TO RIDE THE BUS MUST REGISTER THROUGH THE LINK ABOVE**

General Information

In accordance with the policies of the Norton School Committee, transportation will be provided to students based on the following stipulations:

  • Students in grades K-6 that live 2.0 miles or more away from their assigned school will be provided transportation at no charge
  • Students in grades K-6 that live 1.99 miles or closer from their assigned school are eligible for transportation but must pay the fee of $250 per student with no family cap
  • All students in grades 7-12 no matter the distance from their assigned school are eligible for transportation but must pay the fee of $250 per student with no family cap
  • NO CHARGE FOR TRANSPORTATION (waiver): Transportation will be furnished without charge to any student regardless of grade level or distance if the pupil is on Free / Reduced Lunch Status.

Important Details

Bus fee: $250 per rider, no family cap ($50 surcharge for late registrations)

Registration: Online registration ONLY

2.0-mile calculation: All distances from assigned schools will be calculated by GOOGLE MAPS WALKING DISTANCE ONLY (enter school address and home address) - SEE MAPS BELOW FOR DISTANCE CALCULATION

Seat Guarantee: Completion of registration does not guarantee a seat on the bus. Capacity determination will be made on a first come first serve basis. If you have completed the registration and there is no seat available, a refund will be issued for the transportation fee.

Expectation On The Bus

EXPECTATIONS ON THE SCHOOL BUS

  • Classroom Conduct must be followed while riding the school bus. Inside voices and listening ears must always be used.
  • Students are to remain seated at all times/no switching of seats.
  • Students are not allowed to eat or drink on the school bus unless we have been notified of a medical condition.
  • All students must keep hands and feet to themselves. And hold on to their own belongings.
  • Students must use electronics on silent or with ear buds/headphones. No external speakers are allowed on the bus.
  • Aisles must stay clear of all belongings to help keep students safe.
  • Students KF-3 NEED to have a parent/guardian at the bus stop to receive the student unless a letter has been sent into the main office stating otherwise.
  • Students are not allowed to take a different bus home. A student can get off at another bus stop on their assigned bus as long as the driver is given a signed note by the school’s office at the beginning of the bus ride.
  • Students must be at their assigned bus stop 10 minutes prior to their bus pick up time.
  • Students are expected to follow all rules and if a student is not following the rules discipline slips will be written up and sent over to the students school.
  • The safety and transportation of all students is our main concern.
